Mariko Morimoto is a Japanese gravure idol born on September 8, 1971 according to one bio (’69/9/3 in another but who cares?). She began as an actress and glamour model in 1987, but an attempted rape in 1988 caused her to step back for a short time. After that, going back and forth between media and a series of retirements, un-retirements, final retirements and un-final un-retirements—with acting and gravure work through them all—her true final retirement came in 1999, with 12 years of show business under her belt.
